Life Changing Motivational Quotes !!!
A disciple was very sad. One day, the guru gave him lemonade with extra salt and asked him to drink it. The disciple said, "If we add sugar to it, it will become drinkable.
We should forget the mistakes made knowingly or unknowingly and move forward. If we dwell on painful memories, the sorrow in life will never go away. Therefore, we should focus on the good things, not the bad ones. A folk tale is associated with this idea.
According to the story, in ancient times, a disciple in a gurukul used to stay very sad. His guru observed him daily but thought he would feel better in a few days. However, even after many days, the disciple remained sorrowful in the ashram. One day, the guru asked him to come and meet him in the evening, as he wanted to talk to him.
After finishing his studies in the evening, the disciple went to the guru. The guru asked him, “Why are you so sad?”
The disciple replied, “Guruji, in the past, my family went through a lot of troubles all at once. Remembering those past events, my entire family remains very upset. Thinking about them makes me sad here as well, and I can’t concentrate on my studies.”
The guru said, “Would you like to have some lemonade? It will make you feel better.”
The disciple agreed. The guru made lemonade but deliberately added extra salt to it.
As soon as the disciple took a sip, the excessive salt made his face grimace. He said to the guru, “Guruji, there’s too much salt in this.”
The guru replied, “Oh, perhaps I accidentally added too much salt. Let me throw it away and prepare another one.”
The disciple said, “Guruji, there’s no need to throw it away. If we add some sugar, the sweetness will reduce the saltiness, and we can drink it.”
The guru smiled and said, “You’re absolutely right. In the same way, when bad times come into our lives, we must focus on the good experiences and let go of the sorrowful ones. Doing this keeps our thinking positive even in tough times. If we keep dwelling on the painful memories of the past, the sadness in life will never end. That’s why we must focus only on the good things.”
